～であるのに対して［反して］、
～である一方で、
～だがところが
・二者あるいは二つの事柄を比較して大きな差があるときに用いられる。
例文 :
I like Summer whereas my mother doesn't like it.
私は夏が好きな一方で、母は夏が嫌い。

接続詞 ( conjunction ) の場合は、後ろに節が必要 ( S + V )
前置詞 ( preposition ) の場合は、後ろに句が必要 ( S + V が含まれない )

1. 等位接続詞
-> 等位接続詞とは、文法上対等の関係にある「 語と語 」 「 句と句 」 「 節と節 」 を結び付ける語
( 例 : and, but, or, nor, for , yet , so)
2.相関接続詞
等位接続詞が他の語と一緒になってできるものを、相関接続詞と言う。

3. 接続副詞
接続詞のように 2 つの説をつなぐ働きをする副詞
